What we supply
Phosphoric acid sits across two very different worlds. In the plant it phosphates metal before painting, builds detergent formulations and acidulates fertiliser. In food and beverage it is the acidulant in colas and a processing aid elsewhere — and there the grade, the packing and the paperwork all change.

Price
Phosphoric acid is made from rock phosphate and sulphuric acid, and India imports most of its rock, so the price carries a currency and freight exposure that domestic acids do not. Food grade costs meaningfully more than technical because of the extra purification, the certification and the packing. Tell us which grade you actually need — buying food grade for a phosphating line is a common and expensive mistake.
Questions
Only if the acid contacts food or beverage, or your customer's audit requires it. For phosphating, detergents, fertiliser or water treatment, technical grade is the right material and costs less. If you are unsure, tell us the application and we will say which grade we would quote.
Grade certification with the consignment and a batch certificate of analysis, in food-safe packing. If your buyer needs a specific declaration format, send us the format at the enquiry stage and we will confirm whether the source can provide it.
It has crystallised, not spoiled. 85% phosphoric acid has a crystallisation point of around 21 °C — higher than most buyers expect, and above a north or west Indian night from about November to February. Warm it gently and evenly back into solution and the material is unaffected. To avoid it entirely, either trace and heat the storage to around 25–30 °C through those months, or buy 75% acid, which stays liquid far below zero. Both grades are available on enquiry.
Phosphoric acid is quoted per kg or per tonne, landed. Food grade carries a premium over technical grade, and drums cost more per kg than tanker loads. Send grade, packing and quantity for a written price with validity.
Yes. Orthophosphoric acid (H3PO4) is the full name of what the trade calls phosphoric acid; the 85% grade is the standard commercial strength.
