What we supply
Copper sulphate pentahydrate is the bright blue crystalline salt known in the trade as blue vitriol. It is made by reacting copper scrap or copper oxide with sulphuric acid (with air to oxidise the metal), or recovered from copper-bearing process streams, so its cost follows the copper price closely.

Copper sulphate tracks the LME copper price almost directly, with sulphuric acid a smaller input. Grade (technical, agricultural, feed or electroplating), crystal size, bag size, freight and quantity set the landed number. Because copper moves daily, offers carry a short validity.
