What we supply
Glycerine (glycerol) is a clear, sweet, very viscous trihydric alcohol. Almost all of it today is a by-product: it separates out when fats and oils are split for fatty acids, saponified for soap, or transesterified for biodiesel. That crude glycerine is then distilled and bleached to the refined grade the trade buys.
Velora supplies refined glycerine, typically 99.5%, in drums and IBCs. USP or IP grade is supplied against the producer's certificate of analysis for the specific lot, and pharmaceutical buyers should test each lot under their own GMP, including for DEG and EG. If you need a vegetable-only source, say so at the enquiry stage — it is confirmed lot by lot, not assumed.

Because glycerine is a by-product, supply is set by how much biodiesel, soap and fatty acid the world is producing — not by glycerine demand — and a large share of India's refined glycerine is imported from South-East Asia. Palm and vegetable oil markets, freight, the rupee, grade (USP versus technical) and drum versus IBC all move the landed number. We quote per kg in writing with a stated validity.

Crude glycerine comes straight off the soap or biodiesel plant and carries water, salt, methanol and fatty matter. Refined glycerine has been distilled and bleached to 99.5% or higher. Velora supplies refined glycerine; crude is a different product with a different customs heading.

Cold. Glycerine's viscosity rises steeply as temperature falls. Store drums indoors and warm them gently if needed — the product is not spoiled.
